Choosing a spray gun for a hose might seem like an easy enough task. However, there are so many poor versions online that it’s important you’re given all the correct information about which one to buy. The good news is that I’ve spent quite a bit of time working out the best hose spray guns. As such, I’m able to pass this information onto you so that you can make an informed decision about this.

Gardena Premium Multi Sprayer Gun

Gardena is well known for their high quality garden hoses, but they also make excellent accessories. When it comes to the best spray gun on the market, the clear choice is this offering from Gardena.

It has 5 excellent spray patterns on it, making it ideal for carrying out various tasks around the garden. It means that you can water the grass with ease, as well as making sure that flowers and plants can also be safely watered by changing to spray pattern to a gentler one.

The build quality of this is fantastic, with it containing a combination of metal and also plastic parts. This means that not only will you get a lot of use out of it, is also means it is less likely to break as well. In the unfortunate event that something did go wrong with it, Gardena also include a five year warranty with the unit for added peace of mind.

What I really like about it is that it fits properly in my large hands. Changing the spray patterns is extremely easy and as a whole, the unit feels very well made. It’s also great for cleaning a car as well, so it’s not solely for garden work.

It’s the most expensive item on this list, but if you’ve got a lot of different things you want to water in your garden and you want a 5 year warranty, this is the spray gun I would opt for. Add into the mix that it is also frost proof and you’re onto a winner.

Karcher Multi-Functional Spray Gun

Karcher are more commonly known for their pressure washers, but they also do a variety of hose spray guns as well for keen gardeners. During my testing of the Karcher spray guns, I really liked the multi-functional one.

The reason for this is that not only is it really well made, but it’s not overly heavy either. It’s just the right weight and it feels great in the hand whilst using it.

Another nice touch with it is the fact that you can also lock the trigger in place. I have used this option when I’ve been watering a lot of plants, as well as the grass. The good thing about the lockable trigger is that you don’t need to hold it down constantly to get a stream of water.

When compared to the Gardena spray gun mentioned above, there are only four spray patterns with this unit. However, these will be more than enough for you to carry out your gardening needs since it has a full steam, as well as a misting mode.

An added bonus is the fact that you can also rotate the handle. This is a great option for when you need to get water to plants and flowers in awkward positions. It works out about half the price of the Gardena and is a great option for those that don’t have a large budget for a hose spray gun.

Spear & Jackson Multi-Function Spray Gun

This offering from Spear & Jackson is the lowest priced on this list, but please don’t let that put you off with respect to it’s quality. It is very well constructed, with the outer case being made of metal but it also has a rubber handle on it.

One downside of it is that the trigger isn’t lockable in the conventional sense. However, is you tighten down the regulator on the trigger, it does mean you won’t need to hold it down constantly to get water from it. This does give up a bit of control though as opposed to the Karcher listed above.

It also has seven different spraying patterns, which is the most on this list. However, I would say that this is for lighter gardening work when compared to other two options listed above. Having said that, during my testing I didn’t have any issues with the quality of it.

It’s a great, low cost item that is highly recommend for budding gardeners that don’t want to spend a lot of money on a hose spray gun.
